Guess what? Wanting endless expensive and invasive ways to get rid of cellulite is out.  Often we are looking around for complicated solutions to our health problems and appearance, but are stuck to try the most natural remedies all around us…..with food.

If you’re like most women who suffer from unpleasant cellulite on your thighs, butt and back of the arms, your not alone. On the surface, cellulite appears as lumpy or dimpled skin. However, the process of developing cellulite is more than skin deep. The puckering of skin happens when the layer of fat beneath the skin pushes against connective tissue and bulges, causing the characteristic orange-peel or cottage cheese appearance.

Stick to these following foods to fight and prevent cellulite:

High fiber foods like vegetables, nuts, seeds, and berries – Help cleanse the colon, support metabolism and balance hormones.  Berries are also beneficial because of their high antioxidant content.

Clean protein sources – High quality, organic protein like grass-fed beef, free-range poultry, pastured eggs, wild caught fish, and organic protein powder can increase metabolism and aid in cellulite reduction.  Aim to consume at least 4 oz per meal.

Potassium rich foods – Flush excess fluids and waste out of cells which can reduce cellulite.  Green leafy vegetables, avocados, bananas, coconut water and cultured dairy are high in potassium.

Bone Broth – Contains the amino acids proline and glycine that make up collagen.  The collagen in bone broth can strengthen your tissues and heal the cause of cellulite.

EFA’s and MCFA’s – Coconut and wild caught fish contain fatty acids that promote healthy tissue.  Consume 1 tbsp daily of extra virgin coconut oil and 1 serving of wild caught fish or 1,000mg of fish oil daily.
